Font chooser for web safe fonts

Web safe fonts

Web-safe fonts are fonts you find on a wide range of computer systems.
They are used by webdesigners to increase the chance that content will be displayed in their chosen font.
If a website visitor does not have the specified font on his computer, his browser will select an alternative font, which can change the layout of the web page

Websafe font chooser

When creating a web site it's useful to have a font chooser so your clients can select the fonts they prefer. With our free fonts chooser you have two text boxes which makes it easy to compare fonts and make your choice. You can change the font-family, font-size and letter-spacing.

Try our Web Safe Font Chooser.

Tablas de Multiplicar - Einmaleins

Training the Times Tables

Today I translated my website about training the Times tables online.
You can find the website at Times Tables Test

This math website about the Tables of Mutliplication has several features:

- All exercises are selected at random.
- You can select the tables you want to practice.
- You can also do a reverse table.
- You can let the computer select (tables 2 to 9, 36 exercises, no doubles)
- You can select the lowest and highest factor.

My German translation for Times Tables exercices is on Einmaleins

I also have a Spanish translation for the multiplication tables at Tablas Multiplicar

Finally the French translation for my math website is on Tables de Multiplication

I'm open for suggestions about better translations.

Behavioral Targeting and SEO

Behavioral targeting or behavioural targeting is a technique used to increase the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Information collected on web browsing behavior, such as visited pages, searches, ... is used to display content more relevant to the interests of the individual viewing the page.

You can use location information, called geo targeting.

You can also use day-part targeting or weather targeting.
For example a fashion website showing weather related clothes;
a recipe website showing time related recipes.

The complete article is on Behavioral Targeting.

How many links do I need

Today websites are created with Search Engine Optimization in mind.
The goal is top rankings on search engines for a phrase containing the keywords for your niche market.

For instance, we use a link to Learning French instead of www.french.learnandenjoy.com
to improve the rankings of that site.

How many backlinks do I need!

The qualtiy of your backlinks matters far more than the quantity of your incoming links. Which factors are involved?

- How niche is your keyword in your anchor text
- Focus on relevancy of your linkpartners
- Time is important in link building
- Try Deep linking
- Try contextual links instead of directory links

The complete article is on How many links do I need.

SEO and the way to ABX-linking

How to improve your SEO with link exchange. Try out ABX-linking. Submit your website for free and let the world know your are looking for linkpartners.

How ABX-linking works:

- First find a linkpartner B and form an AB-group.
- Second find a linkpartner X and make your first ABX-link, X links to A and B links to X.
- Finally find a new linkpartner X and now X links to B and A links to X.
- Now you can continuously look for new linkpartners. The first time A gets the incoming link and the second time B gets the inbound link.

A en B are equivalent partners who alternately receive an inlink and place an outlink. Both websites are qualtiy websites and more attractive for a linkexchange then in an ABC-linking.

Only websites with a google page rank of minimum 1 are accepted.

The male versus the female brain

The male and the female brain

1. Men's brains are larger, but as they age, they also shrink faster than women's brains.
2. Women's brains operate at a higher temperature, due to burning more glucose.
3. Women use more of their brains when they think.
4. Men's brains contain roughly 6.5 times the amount of grey matter related to general intelligence as women's brains, while women's brains contain about 10 times as much white matter related to general intelligence as men's.
5. Men tend to score an average of 4 to 5 points higher on intelligence tests, as reported by the journal Intelligence in Sept. 2006. Don't believe us? Click here
6. The average man will think about sex as often as once a minute, while the average woman will think of sex much less often, as infrequently as once every one or two days.
7. Why do women always want to talk? Researchers have found that connecting with another through talking will trigger the pleasure centers in a woman's brain, a high second only to an orgasm.
8. Baby girls have been observed to typically have stronger reactions than boys to disturbing or distressful sounds.
9. A 20-second hug will trigger the release of oxytocin in a woman's brain. The effect of this chemical will often give the woman a feeling of trust in the person hugging her.
10. Men use fewer words per day than women.

How to become a Trend on Twitter ?

Twitter trends are hot on twitter. Many tweeple tweet about trends as a strategy to get more followers on Twitter.

But when your check the latest tweets about trends with
twearch.notlong.com you'll found out that in a minute your tweet is
invisible and replaced with other trend tweets. So I doubt whether trend tweeting will give you more followers on twitter.

Maybe you can become a trend setter!

With many trends you think: what the f.. this trend is about.
On www.whatthetrend.com you can find the answer.

When following trends I noticed that many trends involve the word 'day': twoonday, followfriday, anzac day, ThankfulThursday, Earthday, ...

Twoonday involves changing your avatar to a cartoon character to cheer everyone up. Every Friday you can suggest good people to follow and hashtag it #followfriday. ANZAC Day is a national public holiday in Australia and New Zealand, and is commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. People explain what they are thankful for on #ThankfulThursday. Earth Day, a day to raise awareness for environmental protection, will take place April 22, 2009.

So if want to become a trend setter on twitter: invent a twitterday.
Open for suggestions?

Looking for a twitter word for a twoosh poem!

Haiku poets write about everyday things.

A Haiku paints a mental image in the reader's mind in only 17 syllables over just three 3 lines of poetry (5-7-5)!

Twitter has embraced the haiku and calls it a twaiku.

Twitter is about: What are you doing? A twaiku is a tweet with a haiku to express the things you are doing. When you tweet a poem that isn't a haiku, then tweeple use the word Twoem.

A tweet of exactly 140 characters is called a Twoosh. I don't know whether there is already a twitter name for a twoosh poem. Any Suggestions?

I'll end this post with my leatest twaiku:

Draw me with your thoughts
and don't forget my wrinkles
the wisdom I earned

Birthday poems with a personal touch.

Some birthday poems I found on the internet and which I gave a personal touch.

Today

Today you can jump
be crazy and run
Today you can sing
with lots of fun
Today you get gifts
from all your friends
I wish today
never ends

Happy Birthday!

Today's the day
we're glad to say
each year
we love you more

Today's the day
we celebrate
the day
you were born

The Birthday Wish

Each birthday wish
I've ever made
really does come true
Each year I wish
you'll grow some more
and every year you DO!

The Birthday Cake

Ben turns eight today
let's make him
a birthday cake
with candles for each year
and in the middle
his chocolate name

Happy birthday song!

John thomas has a birthday
hip, hip, hip, hooray!
with 8 candles on his cake
what a happy day!
with a puff puff here
and a puff puff there,
here a puff
there a puff
everywhere a puff puff
john thomas has a birthday
hip, hip, hip, hooray!

Susan's Birthday

Happy Susanday to you,
Happy Susanday to you.
Happy Susanday
Dear Susun,
Happy Susanday to you!

Bilding Self Esteem through poetry

Poetry touches the heart. So touch your own heart by writing poetry.

The process of seeking words is also seeking in your soul, there starts the comfort and the healing. Is doesn't has to be a haiku or another poetry form. The basic is finding words of your own.

Pillow of silence
fearing feathers of words
saying you're worth it

Twitter poem and haiku or twoems and twaiku

A twaiku is a haiku posted on Twitter. Twitter is an ideal environment for the brevity of haiku. Some twaiku:

Seeing Saturnus
Imagine a ring of love
and feel surrounded

Dream the dream you dreamed
and maybe you will wake up
in another dream
